Background: Psychoeducational interventions for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Tourette syndrome (TS) has become an integrated part of post diagnostic health services. The purpose of psychoeducational interventions is to improve mental health and to increase participant’s self-esteem and insight into their condition and knowledge about themselves. Method: We performed a systematic search in international databases to review the outcomes and evidence of psychoeducational intervention studies for individuals with ADHD, ASD and TS. Results: We found no studies on TS and few studies on ADHD and ASD. Reviewed studies report both positive, adverse and non-significant changes in relevant outcomes. Conclusion: There is a need for further research on psychoeducational interventions for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders. In the meantime, clinicians should be careful in implementing and recommending psychoeducational interventions for this group.
